Coaching Experience:
James Baranello has been involved in coaching youth soccer for more than 25 years. He was the founder and president of Crown City FC, a premier level soccer club for girls in Cortland, NY. In 2009 Crown City FC joined with clubs from Syracuse, Buffalo and Rochester to be part of Empire United Soccer Academy and in 2014 affiliated with Syracuse Development Academy as SDA – Cortland. From 2003 to 2013 Jim was the head coach of the Homer High School Girl’s Varsity team. In his time at Homer, Jim’s teams qualified for post season play every year. In 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2013 Homer was the OHSL League Champion and in 2006 won the NYSPHSAA, Class A Section III Championship advancing to the NYSPHAA Sub-regional. Jim served assistant coach of the Well’s College Women’s team in 2002. In 2006 Jim was named OHSL Freedom Division Coach of the Year. In 2009 he was named Competitive Girl’s Coach of the Year by the New York State West Youth Soccer Association.
