3 SDA Alumni to Play Professionally Overseas

Coach Highlight: Nick Calo
Nick Calo joined SDA last year, coaching the 06/07 Girls Orange team. Since then, he has taken on the 2011 Boys Orange team in addition to the 06/07 Girls. Three Siblings Advance from SDA to D1 Soccer
Sophia, Grace, and Niko Dimkopoulos are all SDA alumni who continued their soccer careers at Siena college. All three siblings joined the Saints after high school and are playing D1 soccer for the school. Alumni Spotlight: Taylor Bennett
Taylor Bennett, from the girls ’98 SDA team, has signed a contract with Afturelding, a second division team in the Iceland professional women’s soccer league. Taylor played D1 soccer at Syracuse University, where she was a 4-year starter on the back line, playing center back and helping the team secure 21 shutouts during her career. Coach Highlight: Tommy Tanner
Tommy Tanner coaches our SDA Boys 2008 team and has been with the 2004 boys for the past several years. Tommy has been coaching with SDA for over 10 years and has a tremendous background in soccer and coaching. Tommy played professional soccer for over 14 years. Alumni Spotlight: Gabrielle Pointkowski
SDA alumni, Gabby Piontkowski from our girls 2000 team, has had a challenging college soccer career but persevered. Gabby is a sophomore at Binghamton University where she plays outside back for the D1 program. During her freshman preseason, she was experiencing tremendous pain in her chest and difficulty breathing.
